About Lain:

Lain is an alumni of Hampden-Sydney College and studied under David Dodge Lewis, Barger Professor of Fine Arts, who developed this mixed media technique. This medium uses a combination of charcoal, wax, ink, and acrylic paint to create the final product. Many of the pieces from this collection are portraits of artists and musicians that have inspired Lain over the years. Additionally he creates commissioned works for people all over the country from beloved photos and images.

Mad Desperado, aka Lain Healey, relocated to the amazing city of Austin, TX two years ago but still has strong ties in Charleston, SC and will always consider Pittsburgh, PA his hometown. In addition to his art, Lain works as a stand up comedian, and enjoys tacos and long walks on the beach.
